The Royal Academy A mixed boarding school called Dungannon is situated in Dungannon, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It was one of several "free schools" established in 1608 by James I (also known as James VI of Scotland) to educate the boys of local farmers and merchants during the planting of Ulster.
