Ardingly College is a private boarding and day school located close to Ardingly, West Sussex, England. Because it belongs to the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference and the Woodard Corporation of independent schools, the school has a strong Anglo-Catholic heritage. It started off as a boys-only boarding school but switched to full co-education in 1982. In the British understanding of the word, it is a public school (i.e. fee-paying). About 416 students, ranging in age from 13 to 18, were enrolled in the institution as of 2017. The Years 7, 8, and 9 curricula at Ardingly College were created with the new, revised GCSE requirements in mind. The curriculum is concentrated on teaching pupils the knowledge and abilities needed to support them while they study for their GCSEs. Each subject's curriculum is designed to create solid foundations for GCSE study in the future. Despite the fact that the three years make up a unified curriculum, the programs are made to be successful for students who enroll at the 11+ or 13+ level. Students gain from taking courses designed by educators with GCSE teaching experience and taught by subject experts. The curriculum maintains its breadth by including science and technology, the arts, language, and the humanities. The Pre-Sixth Form Academic Curriculum at Ardingly College is primarily created for international students who plan to pursue the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form. A typical IB student values education and participates in a variety of extracurricular activities. They appreciate being stretched and challenged, are self-reliant, and are willing to take calculated chances.

At Ardingly College, you can take courses for the BTEC, the IB, or A Levels. Parents and children both receive direction and counsel to support students in making wise decisions.

A Levels give students the flexibility and depth they need to pursue a specialized degree in a narrow range of disciplines. The majority of Ardinians begin their Sixth Form studies with four subjects of their choosing. This gives them the chance to fully explore their options before deciding to complete three full A Levels. All students are required to complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in addition to their A Level studies. This gives A Level students the chance to conduct research for a project that resembles the IB Extended Essay and gives them the advantages of finishing a research essay before entering college.

The academic rigor, breadth, and coherence of the diploma program are its goals. Along with the IB Core, students study six subjects—three at the higher level and three at the regular level. As part of their graduation requirements, all students must complete courses in English, mathematics, science, language, and humanities. The IB Diploma is a fantastic choice for students who desire both depth and breadth from their academic program in the Sixth Form.

Many students from across the world want to study in the UK and in English, but some find it difficult because their level of English proficiency is still insufficient to allow them to benefit from studying in a UK environment. For Year 8 pupils from outside the UK who are academically talented but whose level of English is below the level needed for admittance to the mainstream Year 8 curriculum at Ardingly College, there is a one-year transition program called the International Academic Pathway (IAP). These students must be 12 or 13 years old at the time of entry. Each year, 12 or so students will enroll in the IAP.

If the IAP is successfully completed, students will automatically be admitted to Ardingly College in Year 9 and, if they receive satisfactory IGCSE grades in Year 11, they will have the option of continuing on to IB or A Level in Years 12 and 13 (Sixth Form).

School Life at Ardingly College

Students are actively encouraged to take advantage of a full social calendar in addition to working and playing hard. Additionally, students can interact with one another on campus and frequently get together for a sporting event in the Sports Hall, Strength & Conditioning Centre, tennis courts, or just for a game of catch on the playing fields. Additionally, regardless of skill level, students are encouraged to engage in a variety of inter-house tournaments. Houses plan their own events and activities and raise money for the organizations of their choice. The climax of the week is Saturday, when boarding houses alternate hosting an evening gathering.Sunday is the day for excursions; popular stops include ten-pin bowling, Bluewater, and Thorpe Park. The weekend activities program is also open to day students who wish to participate. Inspired by the Woodard ethos, Ardingly College promotes and assists staff and students in participating in a variety of volunteer and charitable endeavors. There are various methods for doing this. New experiences and the chance to volunteer locally or halfway around the world enrich each of our lives.

Many students participate in neighborhood community service initiatives as part of their IB program, which reflects the Woodard ethos of the school.

Most weekends at Ardingly Colleg, groups travel to projects in the Sussex region, such as helping with forestry and conservation at Standen House with the National Trust or designing and building an outdoor play area and education space for young children.
