In Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England, there is an independent day school called Berkhamsted School. It is a "diamond school," where students are taught alone in the typical Senior years, between the ages of 11 and 16, but coed in the Pre-Prep School, Prep School, and Sixth Form. The current institution was created in 1997 through the union of the original Berkhamsted School, the 1888-founded Berkhamsted School for Girls, and the Berkhamsted Preparatory School. Initially known as Berkhamsted Collegiate Institution, the newly combined school changed its name to Berkhamsted School in 2008. The Schools Group was created in 2011 through the union of Berkhamsted School with Heatherton House School, an Amersham-based girls' preparatory school.In 2012, the Group bought Berkhamsted's Haresfoot School, which became Berkhamsted Pre-Preparatory School and Berkhamsted Day Nursery for kids ages three to seven.

Programs

School Life

All of the boys participate in a Bushcraft experience during the first week of Year 7 at Berkhamsted Boys, which kicks off outdoor education.

Boys at Berkhamsted Boys have the opportunity to participate in a number of outdoor activities throughout their senior years and into the Sixth Form. This might be done voluntarily as a different game option or as a part of a house team-building activity. Future Prospects
