A strong academic foundation, supported by Clayesmore School's cutting-edge approach to learning attitudes, ensures advancement throughout the prep school. English, math, and science students in Years 7 and 8 follow the Common Entrance curriculum.
Children can utilize their ICT abilities across the curriculum in addition to their weekly computer instruction. Data logging in math and science, 3D design in design and technology, increasing online safety awareness, and improving learning through cloud computing are some of these potential.
The core of the program is the development of life skills. The Clayesmore School LEX program, which strives to give students memorable and transforming experiences while also assisting in providing them with the tools needed for them to succeed throughout their education and beyond, contributes to this.
In the junior years, the class teacher, who is key to your child's academic development and pastoral wellness, teaches the majority of the classes. This offers a dependable and encouraging basis for their academic career. Specialized teaching in areas like art, pottery, design & technology, computing, French, games, music, and physical education is also beneficial to the kids.
As kids enter the middle school years, additional specialized instruction is added, and Clayesmore School's committed team of tutors continues to track and assist the kids' growth. As students enter their senior years, this staged method motivates them to develop greater independence, resiliency, and responsibility.
The challenges of key stage three learning objectives are introduced to the Year 7 and Year 8 students in the senior years, allowing for a smooth transition into Year 9 and subsequent years. This is made possible by the strong ties between subject leaders at Clayesmore Prep and Senior School, who will guarantee that your child is in the best possible position to succeed in their GCSEs and other exams in the future.
The Clayesmore Prep School athletic ethos is practiced by the students in games and physical education classes: Competition, teamwork, and improvement are the three pillars of each lesson and game. Everyone has the chance to compete for the school in a variety of sports, and many students go on to compete at the county level and beyond. A highlight of the school is that it offers specialized music instruction on a variety of instruments; at least two thirds of students take music lessons. Every student sings on a regular basis in the senior and junior choirs, which each have about fifty members. Master courses, concerts, and tours are just a few ways that artists can hone their musical abilities and showcase them. Students can develop their self-confidence in drama lessons and theater productions, and there are numerous other specialized art, pottery, and design & technology options to stimulate the creative students. Numerous Year 8 students at Clayesmore School are successful in receiving scholarships in many of these fields in addition to academic topics.
At the core of everything Clayesmore School does is ensuring that the students succeed in their GCSE exams.
This academic emphasis prepares them well for their sixth-form choices of A Level or BTEC. Though some may choose to take fewer, most students will take nine GCSEs. The Clayesmore School puts a lot of effort into making sure that its pupils enjoy learning and desire to succeed. Every half-term, Clayesmore School gives parents an update on the status of both classwork and preparation.
Students pursue a variety of subjects in Year 9 and decide on their GCSE options in March or April. Parental involvement in this process is complete. At the GCSE level, all students study English, mathematics, and all three sciences. They also have the option to select up to four additional topics from a wide variety of possibilities.
By the end of September, students in Year 9 are grouped according to their "ability" in English, mathematics, and science. After any tests, as well as at the conclusion of the academic year, Clayesmore School sets are reviewed.
Students in the sixth form have access to a broad and varied selection of A Level and BTEC options.

The Clayesmore School has a proven track record of success in assisting students who want to enroll in the most prestigious universities or schools of art, music, and drama.
School Life
Students in the Sixth Form have many opportunities to interact with their classmates and have fun, from the laid-back "Beer and Curry" night to the exciting "Monte Carlo" evening and the cherished Sixth Form Ball.
The core of the school also houses the Sixth Form "Social" common room, where older students can unwind in their own area with access to plush sofas, a pool table, and a kitchen. Additionally, the Prefects are given special permission to go to the local pub on Saturday nights if they so choose.
Whether pupils have been at Clayesmore for a long time or are new, they can make lifelong friendships in the sixth form. They are prepared for the rest of their lives as a group as young adults, and this instills a sense of enthusiasm, optimism, and energy that feeds the Sixth Form cohort's positive and enjoyable culture.
Every Clayesmore student, boarding or day, is a part of the House community, ensuring that their circle of friends at the school is large and varied. All students learn to treat others with compassion, generosity, and respect in their school-based "home," and sixth-form students particularly appreciate taking on leadership roles and mentoring younger students.
The House common rooms are used by Sixth Form day students, who can unwind, mingle, and have a private locker to use throughout the day.
Three of the boys' houses and two of the girls' houses at Clayesmore School are cozy, "family" settings where boarders can interact, work, and have fun while being supported by seasoned Houseparents, a solid pastoral team, and academic staff who can help boarders navigate the challenges of "growing up" and foster successful study habits. Should boarders become unwell or need medical attention, excellent medical care will be provided by licensed nurses, further supporting this pastoral care.
Future Prospects
The Sixth Form students' ability to pursue a wide range of options after leaving Clayesmore is a testament to the school's ethos of nurturing the individual. Whether they choose to study at a prestigious university, get accepted to RADA or music conservatoires, join professional apprenticeship schemes, or become entrepreneurs.
Success at A Levels and BTECs does not always entail enrolling in a Russell Group university, but Clayesmore School has produced many who do. Some of the students wish to work in the fields of art, agriculture, the military, business, fashion, drama, and music, and Clayesmore School helps them to realize their goals in these areas as well. The student body at Clayesmore School is proud to be made up of ambitious individuals who are pursuing their own paths, and Clayesmore School takes satisfaction in assisting them with those choices. Each year, the students choose from an outstanding and wide range of courses.
