For boys ages 3 to 13, Dulwich Prep London (DPL), previously Dulwich College Preparatory School, is an independent preparatory school in south London, England. Louise Davidson is the headmistress at the moment. In the orchard on his father-in-property law's at Coursehorn, close to Cranbrook, Kent, where the affiliated Dulwich Prep Cranbrook is still today, headmaster John Leakey set up an evacuation camp in 1938. The school, formerly known as Dulwich College Preparatory School, changed its name to Dulwich Prep London in September 2011. The school has no formal affiliation with Dulwich College, which runs a junior school for children between the ages of 7 and 13, despite their proximity and relationship.

Boys quickly develop independence, self-assurance, and a zest for studying inside the regimented school day. The importance of doing one's best, being courteous and accepting of other people and their viewpoints, and cultivating the school's values—humility, courage, and self-discipline—is emphasized. The boys are encouraged to cultivate all the qualities required for effective learning through the cutting-edge and engaging curriculum.
For the phonics instruction in Pre-Prep, Dulwich Prep London uses the Read Write Inc program. Math and English are taught in the morning, and science, topics, and the arts are taught in the afternoons. The majority of the curriculum is taught by the class teacher, but Dulwich Prep London also offers several specialist teachers for subjects like games, swimming, music, drama, MFL, PSHCE, and computing. Throughout the school day, the boys' lessons are broken up by enjoyable outings, activities, and a variety of extracurricular organizations.
Although the Pre-Prep has its own building, it also has access to the main site's fantastic amenities, such as the music school, cooking studio, sports hall, swimming pool, science and Design Technology labs, and observatory, which are all located in Alleyn Park. Each year group at Dulwich Prep London is divided into 4 groups with a maximum of 20 students, and there are roughly 160 students there between the ages of 5 and 7. The boys are divided into the four school houses or tribes when they join Year 1 and take part in termly Pow Wows, which feature team-building exercises with boys from Pre-Prep and Lower School.
By helping the Pre-Prep boys with reading and play, the bigger boys from other parts of the school show how important service is. They frequently work together on topics or projects, setting an excellent example and motivating the younger guys to learn.

The boys venture out from this safe base to experience the wealth of activities and resources the school has to offer, including instruction in specialized sports, drama, music, art, design technology, computing, and language. The one-to-one iPad program and its integration into the curriculum benefit the boys' learning as well.
Whether they are entering Year 5 and making their first move onto the main school site or continuing their journey into Year 6 with confidence and eagerness, the Middle School is an exciting time for the boys at Dulwich Prep London.
In order to recognize each person's strengths, specialized education is expanded, and a larger range of academic subjects are taught in sets. Additionally, the boys have access to their own iPad, which is used in class when it is thought to be an effective tool for enhancing their learning. To be fair, a large portion of the academic work is geared on getting students ready for the 11+ tests that take place in Year 6 and other senior school pre-tests.
Building on the frameworks, dispositions, and aptitudes of Year 4, Dulwich Prep London helps the boys become more independent. The ultimate goal at Dulwich Prep London is to have boys who are content, self-assured, and well-rounded by encouraging them to take on greater responsibility for themselves, their things, and their work. The boys can also strive to amass the All-Rounder badges, one for the Middle and Upper Schools each year, which recognize their dedication to the extensive extracurricular activities. More concerts and inter-school games are planned for musical groups and sports teams, and slightly longer residential excursions are scheduled for Years 5 and 6 to give students the chance to deepen their learning outside of the classroom.

Most clubs in Years 1–4 operate during the academic day. A number of clubs occur from 4:00 to 5:00 pm for students in Year 5 and up.
Unless an outside instructor is hired, clubs, such LED Light Sabre, Karate, Fencing, Percussion, Rock Climbing, or Gymnastics, are typically free of charge.
Co-curricular activities enjoy strong student support and are an important component of the Middle and Upper School All Rounder Scheme. Boys in Years 5 through 8 are urged to join a variety of clubs. Sport, music, creative, academic, and cognitive enrichment options are available to students. The All Rounder pin badge can subsequently be obtained by those who span the entire spectrum and exhibit an exceptional level of devotion during the entire year.
Future Prospects
All of the Year 8 lads at Dulwich Prep London have secured great senior school destinations, with 95% getting their first choice. This year, Dulwich Prep London attracted more pre-test offers than ever before and got a record number of offers from notable institutions like Dulwich College, Eton College, St. Paul's, and Winchester College. 38 boys in middle and upper school received a total of 47 scholarships (29 academic, 2 artistic, 9 musical, and 7 sporting).
