The Early Years Foundation Stage staff at Finborough School is a group of individuals whose sole responsibility is to educate young children in a secure, loving setting that allows them to learn at their own pace and places to play at the heart of their educational experiences.

The Early Years workforce is made up of people who are extremely passionate about the holistic development of the child. Staff members are all experts in the early years. Any employee who works with children in the early years must possess the necessary credentials. This enables us to support children at this critical time of learning by having a thorough understanding of how children develop.

A child's life at Finborough School is essentially shaped by three educators: parents, teachers, and the environment. In the early years, a strong home-school collaboration is crucial. Parent-school communication at Finborough School is good. This is accomplished by Finborough School using the "Tapestry"-captured online learning adventures. The Nursery and Reception staff use Tapestry as a tool. A child's "Wow!" moments can be captured by the staff in photographs and videos, which are then shared with parents on the child's personal website or online learning journey account. Following that, parents remain actively involved in their child's educational experience.

The ideal balance of "state of the art" and history may be found at Finborough School. The historical elements from Finborough Hall's previous life are nicely combined with interactive whiteboards, Chromebooks, and iPads in the classrooms.

There are many opportunities for outdoor learning, and it frequently looks like a scene from The Famous Five as students stroll into the woods for classes. All of these elements, according to Finborough School, provide students the best of both worlds. While kids have the chance to become familiar with the most recent technology, they are also taught the value of Digital Civility.

Each week, each Prep School class has allocated time for reading, spelling, and math, which frequently culminates in friendly rivalry through class readathons and house competitions.

The cross-phase Mastery curriculum is created to streamline what is accomplished in each class and includes custom differentiation to accommodate all learning styles and abilities. Every class has "Core" success criteria that outline what each student will learn, and "Support" assignments that are directed towards individuals who need scaffolded learning. Success criteria called "challenges" are meant to stretch and energize all students, regardless of their perceived levels of aptitude.

In order for the pupils to confidently enroll in GCSE courses at this point, they have already improved their learnability.

Although pupils can be admitted early for tests (at the end of Year 10) if it is deemed appropriate, starting GCSE coursework in Year 9 gives more time for mastery of each topic. This makes it possible to create more customized courses in Year 11 and later that are tailored to the needs of each student.

All kids take a science subject that is appropriate, English language, and math. Furthermore, students will continue to have two afternoons of sport and can select up to four optional GCSE topics from a wide range of options. As a result, every student has the chance to create a curriculum that is highly personalized.

Based on the excellent instructor to student ratio, there is a focus on individualized attention. In order to maintain some breadth in their studies, most students choose up to four subjects in Year 12. The curriculum is built around these alternatives, and students are advised and guided in selecting the best subject pairings. The acclaimed "Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers" course and the extensive Enrichment Programme, which lets students participate in a wide range of activities outside of the classroom, are also offered to all Sixth Formers. Students are assisted with the application process for universities and other career alternatives while receiving guidance on the prospects accessible following sixth form. The EPQ is not a course of study because there are no set courses or assignments. For the EPQ, students must conduct extensive research and development over a long period of time—at least one year—and then generate a final product that can be evaluated. The purpose of the EPQ is to encourage students to follow their interests and to make the most of their skills. It can cover any topic that the individual student finds interesting.

The EPQ might be a group of artists who create an image for themselves, make songs and lyrics, sell themselves, and advertise events. The EPQ's final result would be the concert itself. An art student who conducts research on a particular style, creates sculptures, paintings, or prints, and exhibits the results of their labor could be the EPQ.

Excellent staff mentorship includes approving the initial EPQ plan, offering students guidance on how to proceed, assisting with the collection and recording of evidence, providing resources, and evaluating the final product (although this will also be externally assessed).

For life after Finborough School, the EPQ is a great tool to improve UCAS applications, personal statements, and cover letters.
