The students at Gresham's Prep School are extremely engaged in their lessons and clearly like learning, which is most noticeable when walking into a classroom. The academic rigor at Greshams Prep School is meant to be rich and varied, with many possibilities for students to pick up brand-new skills and knowledge that aren't typically taught in classrooms across the nation. Visits and excursions enhance learning, real-world application, and comprehension in addition to the available resources.

Greshams Prep School may truly customize the teaching and learning environment because it is not constrained by the Common Entrance Syllabus or the National Curriculum. This implies that Greshams Prep School is free to instruct students in a way that best prepares them for real-world situations. In order to ensure that Greshams Prep School takes the best components of published curricula of study and fills them with multiple opportunities for being creative in the teaching, Greshams Prep School offers schemes of work prepared by the teachers and adapted annually. In the well maintained woodlands, students have numerous opportunities to master traditional topics, bushcraft, and adventure skills, making outdoor learning at the school much more than just "forest school."

The two-week schedule gives the institution flexibility and the chance to broaden its scope of courses. For instance, Greshams Prep School includes supervised "prep" hours so that all "homework" responsibilities are finished in the school day, freeing up time at home for family time. To boost academic focus, there are additional reading, catch-up, and teaching sessions for reasoning skills. Double periods last 90 minutes, with each period lasting 45 minutes. Due to the Prep School's timetable being the same as the Senior School's, Greshams Prep School can utilize the Senior School's exceptional facilities, knowledgeable faculty, and wealth of resources. By providing for lengthier sessions in topics like Creative Arts, Physical Education, STEAM and Outdoor Learning, double periods work effectively for some disciplines.

Greshams Prep School believes that it is crucial to spend time at this age guiding their decision-making and encouraging a love of reading. Although support and direction are still easily accessible for students in Years 7 and 8, and dedicated time with the librarian is offered once a month, they use the library more independently in those years. The library's collection is periodically updated, and kids are welcome to recommend new titles they would like to read.

The National Curriculum and the National Literacy Strategy are followed by and surpassed by the English syllabus. For students for whom learning two languages in KS3 is inappropriate, additional reading and numeracy classes are given in place of Latin or Spanish.

Design and technology are subjects that are studied academically by all Prep School students. The focus of the junior years (Years 3-5) is on developing practical skills and understanding the design process. Land boats, clocks, money boxes, marble runs, and many more amazing creations were made by Greshams Prep School.
