The college offers students to take GCSE, A Level, and EAL programs. Students have to study the following GCSE subjects: English Literature, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Language, Science. Together with it, a student can opt for several of the following: French, Physical Education, Drama, Art and Design, Business Studies, Design and Technology, History and others. By the way, Drama is becoming more and more popular as a GCSE subject. Drama club is also very popular among students in this boarding school, and it’s taught as a subject during year 8 and year 9 once a week. During the classes, students study both theoretical and practical aspects of Drama, organize their own performances, explore various styles and genres, and at the end of every other year, the Drama department puts on a musical show at the Montgomery Theatre. Many of the students become so inspired by this school subject that they decide to pursue Drama studies at university level. Music classes and clubs are also extremely popular at Mount St.Mary’s College. Here, students can take individual lessons in playing a musical instrument and singing; take part in the school ensemble, and learn how to perform on their own.
