An independent co-educational day and boarding school, Hereford Cathedral School serves students from preschool through the sixth grade. A member of the Headmasters and Headmistresses Conference, its headmaster. In Hereford, the location of the school is close to Hereford Cathedral.

Up until the interwar era, the school's size stayed rather small. In 1945, it was granted direct grant status, and by 1970, it had grown to 370 students, all of whom were boys and many of whom boarded. The school switched to co-education in 1973. It was a direct grant school up until 1975, at which point it made the decision to go independent. The school also took part in the Assisted Places Scheme, which was implemented in 1980 and discontinued in 1997.

Programs 

Hereford Cathedral School takes pleasure in offering meticulously organized and structured activities in the Nursery that are tailored to the unique interests of each child. The Cathedral choristers are still being educated at the School.

Additionally, a UCAS Co-ordinator who is an expert in the university admission process is assigned to each student.Students have the chance to meet with the Head of Futures on an individual or group basis at any time during the Sixth Form to get assistance learning about courses, internships, and other opportunities.Additionally, there are numerous events on topics related to higher education that Sixth Form students can attend.
